My main theme for Studio Arts this year was light. Through ‘light’ I aimed to communicate high visual energy by the waves of artificial light in Artwork 1 ‘Chroma’ which was developed from Potential Direction 1 ‘Linear Vortex’. In Artwork 2 ‘Luminous’, which was developed from Potential Direction 2 ‘Sides’, I wanted my work to be open to the viewers interpretation of whether they see the bottles being lit up as beauty or as happiness. Throughout unit 4 in creation of both artworks, an L.E.D strip was used as the main light source, as well as bottles as my main subject matter for Artwork 2 ‘Luminous’.

Artwork 1 'Chroma' was about creating an image with abstract shapes and create high visual energy through the use of artificial light. The variety of color creates a high contrast of color which adds to the vibrant and impactful aesthetic my images have. I have also used a mirror to reflect the artificial light to ensure my work is impactful on the viewers eyes.

Artwork 2 'Luminous' was about how i can manipulate the light to light up a subject matter. With this, I chose bottles as my subject matter with an L.E.D strip lighting up the back. I wanted my work to be open to the viewers interpretation of whether they see the bottles being lit up as beauty or as happiness.
